After years of working his way up in the restaurant industry, Bernie landed a position as the Executive Chef of a well-known Scottsdale restaurant that was making headlines and putting the Arizona culinary scene on the map with the opening of Citizen Public House in 2011. A decade later, Bernie has made a name for himself in the culinary scene and humbly continues to push the envelope with bold new-American dishes made with local ingredients. He often calls his style “well-traveled comfort food” because he picks up regionally inspired cuisines, and presents them in both simple and playful ways. Bernie has showcased his talents at The James Beard House in New York City and his recipes have been featured in publications such as Bon Appétit and Food & Wine Magazine. Bernie's world-famous (seriously) Original Chopped Salad is fan favorite, and can often be found imitated on menus across the country.
